Terms and Conditions: Online Member – Local Rewards

Applicable to Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory, and Tasmania as of 15 April 2024


  1. These terms and conditions will apply when you sign up to Energy Locals Online Member – Local Rewards Plan during the Reward Offer Period.  
  2. In these terms and conditions Energy Locals is also referred to as “we”, “our” or “us”; and you, the Rewards Customer, is also referred to as “you” or “your.” 
  3. We may vary these terms and conditions from time to time. 



In these terms and conditions: 

  1. Business Day means a day other than a Saturday or a Sunday and that is not a designated Public Holiday in your State. 
  2. Cooling-Off Period means 10 Business Days from the day a Rewards Customer receives a copy of their Energy Agreement, or (if applicable) within such longer period as prescribed the Australian Consumer Law. 
  3. Energy Locals Online Member – Local Rewards Plan means the offer of a Subscription alongside your energy supply.   
  4. Energy Agreement means your acceptance of Energy Locals supply of electricity to you under the terms and conditions for market retail contracts. 
  5. Offer(s) means discounts, special offers and other benefits provided by Participating Retailer to the Promoter for the benefit and use of those who have a Subscription. 
  6. Offer Terms means any terms which may apply to a particular Offer by the Promoter or Participating Retailer.  
  7. Participating Retailer means a supplier of the Offer.  
  8. Promoter means Entertainment Publications Australia Pty Limited ABN 85 065 011 903 of 55 Herbert Street, Artarmon NSW 2064. 
  9. Promoter’s Terms of Use means the Promoter’s terms of use applicable to use of the Website and/or the Mobile App, including the Promoter’s Website and Mobile App terms of use, privacy collection statements and policies, as provided on the Website and Mobile App. 
  10. Reward Offer Period means 15 April 2024 to end date the Energy Locals Local Rewards Plan is available. 
  11. Rewards Customer means an Energy Locals customer who has signed up as part of the Energy Locals Local Rewards Plan. 
  12. Subscription means the 12-month digital entertainment book subscription with the with access to a range of Offers 
  13. Welcome Pack means the letter and accompanying information issued by us to Rewards Customer:  
  14. if the Rewards Customer is a new customer of ours, confirming that we are now responsible for the electricity retail services to the premises under their Energy Agreement; or  
  15. if the Rewards Customer is an existing customer of ours, confirming their new Energy Agreement us. 



  1. To be eligible for the Energy Locals Local Rewards Plan you must: 
  2. sign up with your electricity supply with us during the Rewards Offer Period; 
  3. not subsequently terminate your Energy Agreement with us during the Cooling-Off Period. 



  1. A Rewards Customer who completes the registration process for the Energy Locals Local Rewards Plan (which includes the acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and the Promoter’s Terms of Use), they will obtain a Subscription. 
  2. The Subscription is valid for 12 months from the date it is activated by the Rewards Customer and will provide access to the Rewards Customer to a range of Offers.  
  3. A Rewards Customer will be provided with the activation code for their Subscription in their Energy Locals Welcome Pack.  
  4. The Energy Locals Local Rewards Plan is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.  



  1. By signing up to the Energy Locals Online Member – Local Rewards Plan, you agree to comply with, and be bound by these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter’s Terms of Use, and any applicable Offer Terms.  
  2. You must not use your Subscription for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms and Conditions or the Promoter’s Terms of Use, or to solicit the performance of any illegal activity or other activity which infringes the rights of us, the Promoter, or others.  
  3. All Subscription benefits are accessible via the Website and/or Mobile App.  
  4. The Offers are subject to availability and to the Offer Terms. If there is any inconsistency between the Offer Terms, these Terms and Conditions and the Promoter’s Terms of Use, the Offer Terms will prevail.  
  5. Much of the information on the Website and the Mobile App is provided by Promoter’s Participating Retailer. Whilst the Promoter believes that Participating Retailers are reliable sources of this information, we will not be responsible for the accuracy or currency of such information.  
  6. To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable to any person for any cost, loss, damage, liability, expense, or claim arising, whether directly or indirectly, in connection with an Offer or use of the Subscription, including the use of the Website or Mobile App.  
  7. In use of the Subscription, you acknowledge that:  
    1. the methods for claiming an Offer and purchasing the Participating Retailer’s goods and/or services is determined by that Participating Retailer in its sole and absolute discretion;  
    2. you are responsible and liable for the payment of any and all postage, delivery, transport, and other associated charges that in any way relates to the purchase of goods and/or services using your Subscription; and  
    3. that we are not a party to any transaction you make with a Participating Retailer arising out of your acceptance of any related to your Subscription and will not be responsible for or liable in any way in relation to that transaction or Offer.  
    4. The Promoter may refer you to third party websites on the Website and/or Mobile App. We have no influence on the design and content of those third-party websites. We or the Promoter will not be liable for the contents of any linked pages of third parties to the Website.  



  1. The Promoter may terminate your Subscription if you do not comply with the Promoter’s Terms of Use.  
  2. If you notify us of your intention to transfer to another electricity retailer or move out of your supply address, you will no longer be eligible for the Energy Locals Rewards Plan and your Subscription will be revoked.  
  3. Your Subscription will automatically end if your Energy Agreement is terminated for any reason.

  1. We collect information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. For further information, please phone us on 1300 693 637 or to receive a copy of our privacy policy (which is also available at www.energylocals.com.au/privacy). Our privacy policy also sets out details on disclosures we may make to our related companies, service providers, government and regulatory authorities and professional advisers, how you may access and correct your personal information, and how complaints may be made and will be handled.
