Energy Locals is a young, innovative energy company that doesn’t screw customers. We’re making a difference by disrupting the cosy, traditional part of the market. As well as helping customers directly, we support established organisations and technology companies such as Tesla and Sonnen. The common thread is that we all want to see customers use cleaner, smarter and cheaper power.

The opportunity

How good would it feel to say you’ve doubled the size of a customer base in your first year? We have a unique customer proposition along with a platform for significant growth. We’re looking for someone with a strategic & commercial mindset to take the parts we’ve built already, combine them with new ideas, and come up with a plan. Most importantly, you’ll have the persistence, attitude and desire to get your hands dirty and deliver your plan.

You’ll own the customer acquisition strategy from start to finish, whether it impacts sales, marketing, product, partnerships or retention. Whilst you’ll work closely with our Digital Marketing Specialist, this isn’t a marketing role, it’s about identifying and exploiting any opportunities that can deliver sustainable growth in an ever-changing and increasingly competitive market.

What does the role look like?

  • Develop a growth strategy in your first two weeks
  • Identify new partnerships and strategies that fit with our objectives to deliver sustainable growth
  • Negotiate commercial arrangements with the selected partners
  • Drive digital sales and marketing strategy
  • Improve our multi-site process and identify opportunities to win tenders
  • Review our product mix and recommend enhancements with evidence to support them
  • Find smart ways to retain existing customers 
  • Maximise opportunities that already exist within our business

  • You’re able to hit the ground running: you’ve worked with sales partners or have demonstrated growth strategies and understand how they work. You’ll know who to call on day 1 to make a fast start
  • You’ve a presence in the team and with external partners
  • You demonstrate resilience and are very driven. You won’t let small challenges get in the way of you achieving your goals
  • You are energised by the idea of working in a smaller, nimble and hungry company
  • You won’t be afraid to roll your sleeves up and will revel in the challenge of this opportunity
  • You find a straight-talking work environment refreshing and love the ownership that you’ll have
