What does this service cost?
We provide customers with Australia's fairest energy plans and will pay $50 per customer to the supporting club. Plus, we'll continue to give $50 every year for every supporter who remains a customer. This means it doesn't cost you anything at all - unless you want to put on a sausage sizzle to help launch it of course :)
How long do customers have to stay with Energy Locals for?
We have no lock in contracts for any of our customers, so they are free to leave at any time, however, the longer they stay, the longer you will receive these contributions.
What are carbon neutral energy plans?
Energy Locals offsets 100% of the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the energy we provide to our customers. We've purchased and surrendered Certified Emission Reductions (CERs), recognised under the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS), equal to the total amount of energy we expect our customers to use over the next year, making our power Carbon Neutral. We also offset Energy Locals’ own carbon emissions.
Who’s Energy Locals?
We hold a full energy retail licence from the Australian Energy Regulator, the Australian Energy Market Operator and a number of other local and federal government bodies. We’re going to improve the energy industry for good and we’re starting by having no disappearing discounts, no restrictive contract terms, a big solar Feed in Tariff and carbon offsets for 100% of our residential and business customers’ energy usage.
Will customers save money?
By sacrificing the margins made by pure ‘for profit’ energy companies, we’re able to save a large number of customers money while also contributing value to great Aussie communities. Our rates are the simplest in the market so it’s super easy for customers to compare us to their current provider. We can also help customers with a transparent review of their current bill.
How do we communicate to our supporters?
We provide you with everything you could possibly need to get support for your fundraising, all free of charge. This could include posters, brochures, newsletter snippets, social media content and EDMs. All you need to do is spread the word. You don't have to sell at any time.
How do we get paid?
At the end of each quarter, we'll send you the money that's been raised, which is based on the number of customers that have chosen to support your club and get cleaner, cheaper, fairer energy. You can also keep track of how it’s going with our monthly reports.
How long does our fundraiser last?
It's ongoing meaning you can grow your income every single year and work out how to get better and better. We will provide reporting so you know exactly how you're going and how you can hit your fundraising targets.
