Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager must be passionate about green focused energy solutions and be a results-driven salesperson. They must understand what motivates our customers to engage with innovative options to install renewable tech and provide green power to new and existing buildings. The Business Development Manager will work autonomously and be responsible for identifying sales opportunities and developing growth strategies for both Developers and Strata accounts.

What does a typical day look like?
  • Meet with Developers, Strata Managers, Owners Corporations and other stakeholders
  • Providing green technologies to reduce development and ongoing building and tenant costs
  • Manage your own sales pipeline and increase our client base
  • Manage clients and build relationships across different channels and pinpoint ways to penetrate new markets (greenfield, brownfield, commercial, broadacre etc)
  • Work with other team members to generate leads and close new deals
  • Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies, and programs to capture key demographics, business opportunities and viable income streams
  • Provide weekly reports for your success and communicate data to the Sales Manager
  • Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients.
  • Track projects via our Sales CRM
  • Capability with Microsoft Excel to model sites which demonstrate the financial benefits per project
  • Write business proposals and generate contracts
  • Negotiate with stakeholders
  • Identify and map business strengths and customer needs

Enough about us – let’s talk about you
  • A passion for renewable technologies, improving the environmental impact of buildings and reducing costs for our stakeholders
  • Previous experience with selling to Developers, Strata Companies and Owners Corporations is highly regarded
  • Experience in renewable technologies, energy management, electrical retail or related sectors is also highly regarded
  • A technical appreciation and understanding of Embedded Networks, Centralised Hot Water, Solar, Batteries, VPP and EV Charging solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to negotiate and close a deal
  • A highly autonomous approach with the ability to multitask, think and plan ahead
